What it does

Returns a company's metadata and recent filing history: form types (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.), filing and report dates, accession numbers, and primary document names for building links to the filings.

Primary use cases

  • Finding a company's most recent annual or quarterly report.
  • Listing recent 8-K events for a company.
  • Building a feed of a company's regulatory disclosures.

Good to know

The CIK must be 10 digits, zero-padded (e.g. 0000320193 for Apple). Use lookup_cik to resolve a ticker first. The most recent roughly one year of filings is inline; older filings are referenced for follow-up.
