timer/wait

Wait (block) for a number of seconds, up to 30, then return.

Free / no pricing configured

What it does

Pauses for the requested number of seconds and then returns, reporting how long it actually waited.

Primary use cases

  • Spacing out repeated calls when polling an asynchronous job for completion.
  • Backing off between retries.
  • Rate-limiting a sequence of actions.

Good to know

The maximum is 30 seconds; requests above that wait 30 and report capped: true. This pauses the current step inline and returns. For firing an action LATER without blocking, or for waits longer than 30 seconds, use the schedule namespace instead. Fractional seconds are allowed.

Parameters

secondsnumberrequired

How many seconds to wait (0-30). Values above 30 are capped to 30.
